SUMMARY:Virtual Tour of Baltimore's Historic Hospitals
DESCRIPTION:In her position of Director of the History of Medicine in Maryland at MedChi\, The Maryland State Medical Society\, Meg Fairfax Fielding digs deeply into the organization’s archives and collections\, which date to its founding in 1799. Several years ago\, she began charting what is essentially a family tree of hospitals that operated in Baltimore\, which ones disappeared\, which ones merged\, and which still survive. In this virtual tour\, Meg will share some of the more unusual hospitals in Baltimore\, as well as a few we all know\, complete with historic engravings and photographs\, and maybe a few stories! \nThe Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) and Baltimore Heritage present a series of 30 minute live virtual tours and presentations focusing on Baltimore architecture\, preservation and history. \nThis program is hosted on Zoom. Upon registering you will receive an email confirmation and a Zoom link. If you do not receive a link\, please contact ndennies@aiabalt.com. If you do not contact us at least 1 hour prior to the start of the program\, we cannot guarantee admittance. \nTickets are donation based.
