We Dig Hampstead Hill! Community Open House

April 19, 2014 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Patterson Park, known as Hampstead Hill in the early 1800s, was the site of Baltimore’s major defensive position against a British land invasion in the War of 1812. With funding from the Maryland Heritage Area Authority and the National Park Service American Battlefield Protection Program, Baltimore Heritage is undertaking an archaeological investigation of Patterson Park from April 15 through May 10, 2014.

Volunteer Workshop – 8:00 am to 9:00 am

After some rainy weather to start the week, we’ve added a second volunteer workshop for anyone who was unable to attend our workshop on Tuesday evening. Learn more about volunteer opportunities with our updated volunteer FAQ.

Community Open House – 9:00am to 12:00pm

For the first weekend of the We Dig Hampstead Hill field excavations, we are welcoming anyone interested in learning more about the project to stop by Patterson Park, meet our archeological team and learn more about the history of Hampstead Hill.
