Southwest Storytelling Project: Church, School, & Community

Bring your photos and memories to share with the Southwest Partnership! The Southwest Storytelling Project will have scanning stations set up to scan photographs and documents, and will be recording small group discussion about what churches, schools, and the neighborhoods were like in the past. Each group will be approximately four community members with a facilitator.

The Southwest Partnership is collecting material to create an easily accessible archive of local history: documents, photographs, and stories that tell the history of Southwest Baltimore from the perspective of the people who have built the neighborhoods and made them their home. This archive will be used to educate community members and others about the history and importance of southwest Baltimore neighborhoods and to celebrate the promote the area. Volunteers are needed for scanning photographs, facilitating discussions, registration, and also flyering and outreach before the event!
