Looking Up Downtown Walking Tour: Gargoyles and Grand Landmarks
August 3, 2014 @ 9:30 am - 10:45 am$5 | Register
Join Baltimore Heritage at Baltimore Farmer’s Market for a monthly Looking Up Downtown tour on the first Sunday of every month. In a little over an hour and a little less than a mile (for only a little more than a cup of coffee!), we take you on a walk through the highlights of downtown Baltimore’s history and architecture. We’ll show you a piece of the Berlin Wall embedded in the bricks of an 18th century church. We’ll take you to touch a British cannonball that came crashing down on Fort McHenry 200 years ago. And, of course, we’ll see plenty of gargoyles! We know where all the noble lions, hellish fiends, and neo-Egyptian sphinxes are hiding. You don’t want to miss your chance to look up at the grand landmarks of downtown Baltimore.
Looking Up Downtown tours are free for children under 16 and for Blue Star Families.
If you like this tour, please check out our free Battle of Baltimore Tour at the Patterson Park Pagoda on the second Sunday of every month. You can also find us at the Farmer’s Market for our tour of Historic Jonestown and the Phoenix Shot Tower on the third Sunday of every month through October.
