Preservation Maryland invites you to a free lecture on LGBTQ history in Maryland and current efforts to identify and document historic places important to the LGBTQ community and American history. Susan Ferentinos, Ph.D., author of the award-winning “Interpreting LGBT History,” will join us in Baltimore from Bloomington, Indiana to give us a review of LGBTQ history and historic preservation efforts across the country and here in Maryland.

Attendees are welcome to suggest Maryland locations to research that are relevant to the LGBTQ community. A reception with light fair will follow the lecture. This lecture is part of a statewide strategy led by Preservation Maryland to uncover, document, and interpret LGBTQ history across Maryland. Members of the Maryland LGBTQ History Collaboritive include: Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Charles County, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, University of Maryland, and other organizations and agencies
