We at Baltimore Heritage are pleased again to support the Greater Hampden Heritage Alliance on the second in a series of walking tours, this time of Woodberry. In this small community, two giants of industry converged in the late 1800s. There was Robert Poole: the leading employer of iron workers in Baltimore, and across the tracks, William Hooper, whose Meadow Mill was a monument to his textile enterprise during a time of national depression. Learn the story of the rise, eventual fall, and recent rebirth of this important site of Baltimore industry.
